💡 | Tip: Updates are listed with the most recent at the top and older changes further down.
📌 | Note: This article is reviewed and updated every month to reflect the latest changes to Payroll.
Set a Maximum Amount on Recurring Deductions
Managing recurring deductions just got more flexible! A new option lets you set a maximum amount, capping the total collected and automatically stopping the deduction once that amount is reached. This is a great option for garnishments, loan repayments, and other deductions with a set payoff amount.
Once created, each entry shows the Max Amount, Remaining Balance, and a Reference #, so you can easily see how much was set, what's been collected, and keep multiple deductions separate.
💡 | Tip: You can increase the remaining balance on an active deduction if needed, but you can't set it below the original amount. If a lower maximum is needed, a new deduction should be created instead.
📌 | Note: If the per-pay-period Amount won't reach the Lifetime Maximum by the deduction's End Date, the platform will automatically adjust the amounts collected to ensure the full total is met in time.
⚠️ | Warning: If an employee is terminated with a balance still outstanding, recovering that balance remains your responsibility outside the platform.
Filter the Employee Information Report by Home Payroll Location
📌 | Note: Available to accounts that utilize the Multi-Payroll Cycle feature.
The Employee Information Report now includes a Home Payroll Location filter, making it easier to review where employees are assigned for payroll processing across organizations using multiple payroll cycles.
💡 | Tip: Consider running this report before processing payroll to confirm employees, especially new hires, have been assigned to the correct Home Payroll Location. This helps ensure employees are included in the appropriate payroll cycle for processing.
Assign Custom Hours Structures by Location
📌 | Note: Available to Canadian businesses that utilize the Multi-Payroll Cycle feature.
Canadian businesses using the Multi-Payroll Cycle feature can now link a Custom Hours Structure to a specific Layered-Location, providing more flexibility when different locations need to follow different overtime rules.
Previously, Custom Hours Structures could be assigned to individual employee Positions, while the company-wide Hours Structure applied by default to everyone else. With this update, a Location can now have its own Custom Hours Structure, making it easier to apply the same overtime rules to employees assigned to that Location without updating each Position individually.
📌 | Note: Assigning a Custom Hours Structure to a Location is not self-serve and cannot be completed by administrators. Once you’ve created the Custom Hours Structure you’d like to use, contact our PUSH Support Team to have it assigned to the appropriate Location.
Employee Numbers Added to the Uncollected Deduction Report
The Uncollected Deduction Report (and the exported files) now includes an Employee Number column, giving you an additional way to identify employees when reviewing outstanding deductions.
This report is available for payruns where an employee has a deduction that could not be collected because they had no earnings during the pay period. Administrators will see it appear in the list of reports under the Payroll History tab when applicable, helping identify pay periods with outstanding deductions.

New York Spread of Hours Support for Non-Hospitality Businesses
Subscription: Payroll Add-On (KayaPush New York Customers only)
We now support both Hospitality and Miscellaneous Industry wage orders when calculating the New York Spread of Hours, allowing businesses to use the calculation that best matches their industry.
Previously, businesses that did not use the Hospitality calculation were required to manually track and calculate Spread of Hours premiums. With this update, eligible businesses can now be configured to use the Miscellaneous Industry calculation, allowing payroll to automatically calculate the appropriate premium.

Automatic 401(k) Catch-Up Contribution Tracking
Subscription: Payroll Add-On (U.S. only)
We now automatically track employees who become eligible for 401(k) catch-up contributions, helping payroll teams stay aligned with IRS contribution rules for eligible employees based on the age they are turning in the tax year.
When an eligible employee approaches the standard annual 401(k) contribution limit, they’ll receive an email explaining their catch-up contribution eligibility. If the employee chooses not to participate, an administrator can opt them out using the new Employee Retirement Plan Preferences section in their employee profile.
This helps reduce manual tracking while ensuring eligible employees are notified at the appropriate time and payroll administrators have a simple way to manage participation preferences.
💡 | Tip: Eligibility is determined automatically using the employee’s date of birth on file. Be sure employee birthdates are up to date to ensure eligible employees are identified correctly.
Check out our dedicated article on 401(k) Catch-Up Contributions to learn how eligibility is determined and how catch-up contributions are managed in the platform.
More Granular Earnings & Deductions Report Permissions
Administrators now have more control over what Team Administrators can view in the Earnings & Deductions Report.
Previously, granting access to the report allowed Team Administrators to view all earnings and deduction presets. With this update, administrators can choose exactly which presets each Team Administrator can see in this report, providing greater control over payroll reporting visibility.
💡 | Managing multiple administrators? Check out our Administrator Roles feature to create a reusable set of permissions that can be assigned to multiple team administrators, making access easier to manage and keep consistent.
Request New Earnings & Deductions Presets from Your Account
Requesting a new payroll preset just got easier! The Add/Edit Presets link on the Earnings & Deductions page now supports both Canadian and U.S. payroll customers, directing each region to the appropriate request form.
Previously, this workflow was only available to Canadian customers. With this update, U.S. customers can now access a dedicated request form that collects the information needed to create or update payroll presets.
This helps ensure requests include the required details upfront, reducing follow-up questions and helping our Accounting team review requests more efficiently before following up via email with next steps or confirmation once the preset has been created.
New History of Changes for Payroll Processing
Tracking payroll activity just got more transparent! The Payroll History page now includes a record of who performed key payroll actions, giving teams greater visibility into important payroll changes.
You can now review who ran, approved, unapproved, reversed, or deleted a payrun directly in the platform, along with the associated payrun date and details.
This improvement helps teams track payroll activity more effectively, improve accountability, and quickly answer questions about historical payroll actions without additional investigation.
📌 | Note: Payroll action history will only be available for actions performed after May 19, 2026, at 12:30 PM PST and is not retroactive for historical payroll activity prior to this date.
Improved Cost Centre Summary Report Filtering for Multi-Paycycle Payroll
The Cost Center Summary Report now includes filtering by payrun cycle, helping ensure report data remains aligned with the correct payroll group for accounts that use multiple payrun cycles.
This ensures that reporting visibility remains aligned with assigned payroll responsibilities and prevents data from appearing outside of an administrator’s scope.

Direct Employee Profile Shortcut from Earnings & Deductions
Verifying employee details during payroll just got easier! A new View Profile shortcut is now available when selecting employees on the Earnings & Deductions page.
Once an employee is selected, a View Profile link appears that opens the employee’s profile in a new tab, allowing administrators to confirm important details without leaving their current payroll workflow.
This small improvement helps reduce entry errors and makes it easier to verify employee information during payroll processing.
💡| Tip: The View Profile link is dynamic. If you change the selected employee when adding an entry, the link will automatically update!
Direct Employee Profile Shortcut from the Off-Cycle Payroll Page
Running off-cycle payroll just got easier to verify! The Off-Run payroll page has also been updated so administrators can quickly confirm they are selecting the correct employee, without interrupting their workflow.
When adding employees to an Off-Run, each employee listed now includes a direct link to their employee profile. Selecting the link opens the profile in a separate tab, allowing you to review key details fast, avoiding confusion between employees with similar names and reducing the risk of payroll errors.
Download Pay Stubs Directly from the Push Employee App
Accessing payroll documents on the go just got easier. Employees can now download official pay stubs directly from the Push Employee app.
Employees will see a pop-up notification the first time they log in after this release, introducing the new download option.
When viewing a pay stub in the mobile app, employees will see a clear Download option. Allowing them to generate a secure PDF copy whenever they need it, perfect for financial verification, applications, or personal records.
This enhancement improves mobile payroll self-service and helps reduce routine documentation requests to HR or payroll teams.
📌 | Note: Only active employees can download pay stubs from the mobile app. Inactive employees can still view pay stubs in the mobile app, but must download them from the web app (desktop) if needed.
Employees will now have two options for downloading pay stubs: desktop or mobile app.
Employee Paperless W-2 Delivery Option
US employees can now opt in to paperless W-2 delivery directly through the Push Employee app.
Previously, W-2 forms were automatically provided in both paper and digital formats. With this update, employees can choose to go paperless, meaning they’ll only receive their W-2s electronically, with no additional physical copy mailed.
Employees will see a pop-up notification the first time they log in, offering the option to opt in to paperless delivery.
Their preferences can also be updated at any time under Settings > Notifications > W2 Paperless. This enhancement gives employees greater control over how they receive their tax documents while helping businesses streamline year-end tax distribution.
Mandating the Minimum Wage Field for Employee Positions
To continue supporting evolving payroll compliance requirements, the Minimum Wage field is now required when setting up Employee Positions for U.S. payroll accounts.
When running payroll, the system will now verify that each employee position has a minimum wage selected. If a position is missing this information, payroll processing will pause and prompt administrators to update the position before continuing.
This enhancement helps ensure payroll configurations include the correct wage references required for certain calculations, while reducing the risk of incomplete setup interrupting payroll processing.
📌 Note: U.S. payroll customers may have seen an in-app notification in late February announcing this upcoming change ahead of its March release.
