Question
- Why can't I edit employee hours on the Timesheet tab?
- Why do I see a "Stop" red circle with a slash icon when trying to edit Timesheet hours?
- Why don't I see the Edit Pencil icon when I'm trying to edit a Clock entry or an Earning/Deduction?
Environment:
- Push Web App
Answer
For Timesheets, the Stop icon can appear for one of two reasons:
- Timesheets is not available in your account because your employees clock in and out through the Push Time app or the Push Employee app. Timesheets and Clocking In/Out cannot be utilized simultaneously. If you use our Clock functionality, these hours will sync into Timesheets and will only be viewable.
- There is a payroll or off-run that has either already been processed or is in a pending state. Once a pay period has been processed or is pending, employees' worked hours/earnings cannot be adjusted under Timesheets. If you have a pay period in a pending state (pending approval), you will be required to delete the payroll to be able to make changes.
For Clock Entries, an eye icon can appear instead of the pencil icon for the following reasons:
- There is a payroll or off-run that has either already been processed or is in a pending state. Once a pay period has been processed or is pending, employees' worked hours/earnings cannot be adjusted under Timesheets. If you have a pay period in a pending state (pending approval), you will be required to delete the payroll to be able to make changes.
For Earning and Deductions, the pencil icon disappears for a specific entry or the pay period no longer shows as an option when adding an entry for the following reasons:
- There is a payroll or off-run that has either already been processed or is in a pending state. Once a pay period has been processed or is pending, employees' worked hours/earnings cannot be adjusted under Timesheets. If you have a pay period in a pending state (pending approval), you will be required to delete the payroll to be able to make changes.
Additional Information
In the situation of a pending payroll or off run, Super Administrators or Team Administrators with the appropriate permissions can delete the pending payroll/off run to resume making edits.
Please note that only Super Administrators or Team Administrators with the appropriate permissions can edit Timesheets, Clock Entries, and/or Earnings/Deductions.
