Why Don't Clock Times and Timesheet Times Match?

Question

• I made an edit to an employee's clock hours but the hours on the timesheet aren't the same
• When I compare hours between clocks and timesheets, the times don't match

Answer

The difference is due to minutes to decimal conversion. Clock minutes are 60 minutes to 1 hour. Timesheet hours are calculated using the decimal system and convert minutes to hundredths of an hour.

Additional Information

For instance, an employee's clock time is 8 hours 49 minutes. Timesheet calculations will convert 49 minutes using the 60 minutes = 1 hour. 49/60 = .82. In this case, 49 minutes will be converted to a .82 decimal representation.

Note that employee clock entries will filter into timesheets and cannot be adjusted under timesheets.
