Completing a Reminder Task as an Employee

โšก Why Am I Receiving a Reminder Task?

You may see a reminder task assigned to you as part of your employment.

Reminders are used to share updates or important information that your employer wants you to be aware of. This can include things like a gentle nudge that a certification is expiring soon and needs to be renewed or reuploaded, a change to business hours, or news about an upcoming promotion. They may sometimes be referred to as an HR Task, but both refer to the same thing.

๐Ÿ“Œ | Note: Reminders aren't used as often as forms or videos, especially if your business also uses the chat feature in the Push Employee app to communicate updates. This article walks you through what to do in the event you come across a Reminder task under your My Tasks tab.

โš ๏ธ | Important: Unlike form or video tasks, you can't mark a reminder task as complete yourself. Only your employer or direct manager can do this from their end. See Completing a Reminder Task below for what to do once you've read it.

Accessing Your Assigned Reminder Task

To complete a reminder task, it must first be assigned to you by your employer. Once that's done, accessing it is quick and easy.

You'll be notified that a reminder task has been assigned to you in a few different ways:

  • An email notification with a direct link to open the form in a web browser, if you'd like to complete it that way.ย
  • A push notification is sent to your phone from the Push Employee app.

You can access your assigned reminder task in a few ways:

  • Through the Push Employee app, use the My Tasks tab on your mobile device.
  • Through your account on a desktop browser, use the My Tasks tab.

๐Ÿ’ก | Tip: Can't find your reminder task? If you think one should be assigned but don't see it, contact your manager or employer for a quick check-in.

Option 1: Accessing a Reminder Task Through the Push Employee App (Mobile)

If you'd like to view your reminder task on a mobile device, we recommend using our Push Employee app. It lets you access assigned tasks wherever you are, without needing to log into a desktop browser.

  1. Open the Push Employee app and navigate to the My Tasks tab.
  2. Under Incomplete, tap the task you wish to complete.
  3. A panel will appear displaying the task name and due date.
  4. Review the Completing a Reminder Task (Mobile) section below for details on how to complete.

Option 2: Accessing a Reminder Task Through My Tasks (Desktop)

If you'd prefer to view your reminder task on a bigger screen, we recommend checking this place for any tasks awaiting you.

The My Tasks tab helps you stay organized by separating your tasks into Incomplete Tasks (things you still need to complete) and Completed Tasks (things you've already submitted).

Each task will also give you some context, such as the name, any instructions from your employer, the type of task (e.g., reminder), and whether it's due by a certain date.

  1. Log in to your account on a desktop browser.
  2. Click the My Tasks tab.
  3. Under Incomplete Tasks, select the name of the task.
  4. The page will load the reminder for you to complete.
  5. Review the Completing a Reminder Task (Desktop) section below for details on how to complete.

Completing a Reminder Task

Once you've opened your reminder task, whether on mobile or desktop, here's what to do. This part works the same regardless of which device you're on.

  1. Read the description. This is where your employer will explain what the reminder is about. For example, reuploading an expiring certification, updating business hours for an upcoming holiday, or sharing news about an upcoming promotion.

  2. If the reminder asks you to take an action (e.g., uploading a file or updating something in your profile), go ahead and complete that action.

  3. Let your employer or direct manager know once you've done so, or if the reminder was just for you to read, simply confirm with them that you've seen it.ย

  4. Your employer or direct manager will then mark the reminder as complete on their end.

๐Ÿ“Œ | Note: Since you can't mark a reminder as complete yourself, it will stay listed under Incomplete in your My Tasks tab. Even after you've read it or taken the requested action, it's not marked done until your employer or direct manager does.

Frequently Asked Questions About Completing a Reminder Task As An Employee

Do you have questions about completing your reminder task? We've got you covered with quick answers to common questions.

๐Ÿ’ก | Tip: Can't find what you're looking for? Contact your direct manager or employer if you need more help with your task.

Q: I can't find my reminder task โ€” where should I look?
A: If you're having trouble locating your reminder task, try the following:

  • Check your email for a task notification and direct link.
  • Go to the My Tasks tab and look under Incomplete Tasks (desktop or mobile app).

๐Ÿ‘‰ If you still don't see the task, it may not have been assigned or made available yet. Your employer can confirm this for you.

Q: Can I complete a reminder task on my phone?
A: Yes. As of August 2026, you can complete reminder tasks assigned to you directly from the Push Employee mobile app. Refer to Completing a Reminder Task (Mobile) above for full steps.

๐Ÿ‘‰ If you're having trouble completing a reminder task on the mobile app, your employer or manager can help guide you.

Q: My reminder task still shows as incomplete, even though I read it. Why?
A: This is expected. You can't mark a reminder task as complete yourself. Only your employer or direct manager can do that from their end. Once you've read the reminder (and taken any action it asked for), let them know so they can mark it complete.

Q: What other types of tasks can I be assigned?
A: In your My Tasks tab, your employer can assign a few different types of tasks depending on what they need you to complete.

The three main types of tasks are:

  • Forms: the most common type, where youโ€™re asked to fill in information, sign a document, or review and confirm details.
  • Videos: may require you to watch training videos on business-relevant topics. Such as email phishing or credit card fraud.
  • Reminders: used to share updates or important information your employer wants you to acknowledge, such as internal announcements or upcoming promotions.

While forms are the most commonly used, you may occasionally see video or reminder tasks depending on your employerโ€™s setup.

๐Ÿ‘‰ If youโ€™re unsure what a task is asking you to do, open the My Tasks tab and review the description, or check with your employer or manager for clarification.
