Why Is An Employee On An Averaging Agreement Getting Overtime?

Issue

  • I just processed payroll, and employees on an averaging agreement still have overtime calculating

Environment:

  • Push Web App

Resolution

If your employee is on an averaging agreement but is still getting Overtime, we can check a few things to ensure it is configured as it should be.

  1. Confirm that the employees are clocking in and out with the Position that has been assigned to the correct Custom Hour Structure
  2. A Custom Hours Structure has been created in your account
  3. A Custom Hours Structure has been assigned to the corresponding position for the relevant employees
  4. The Custom Hours Structure has the correct parameters that match the averaging agreement
  5. When was the Custom Hours Structure created or assigned to employees' Positions? If you want this structure to be backdated to previous clocks in the current pay period, please contact the Push Support Team. Otherwise, the system will take the date of assignment as the starting point and any OT prior to that day will still appear
  6.  Confirm that no Earnings and Deductions entries were added to impact the overtime calculation
  7. Confirm that no entries under Timesheets could also impact the overtime calculation

Additional Information

An Averaging Agreement is an agreement between an employer and an employee that allows an employer and employee to adjust how overtime is calculated.

For any changes to the Custom Hours Structure, please contact the Push Support Team to resync the clocks in the current pay period. If not, the Custom Hours Structure will begin the date when you update the Employee Profile's Positions.

For a business that has all of its employees on the same averaging agreement, please feel free to make changes under Hours Structures.

For a business that has select employees or different averaging agreements, please feel free to create the relevant Custom Hours Structures and set up Hour Structures.

Please note that only Super Administrators can make changes under Custom Hours Structure(s).
