There are several reasons why an employee might not be receiving statutory holiday pay,
- Earnings and Deductions: A negative amount for the Statutory Holiday earnings under Earnings and Deductions will remove earnings from the employee's paystub. How To View, Edit, Search And Filter Previous Earnings and Deductions will walk you through the steps to search this page.
- Statutory Holiday Settings: A common reason someone doesn't qualify for statutory holiday payment is that the statutory holiday in question is unchecked under the Statutory Holidays in Company Setup. This article, How To Adjust Statutory Holiday Settings, walks through updating the Statutory Holidays.
- Manual Calculation: Under Statutory Holiday Settings, found in Company Setup, there is the ability to calculate the Statutory Holiday manually. If you would like Push to handle it automatically, then the Calculation Method will need to be set to Automatic, How To Adjust Statutory Holiday Settings will walk you through this process.
- Employee Does Not Qualify: Every province has different qualifying rules for Statutory Holidays that the Canadian Government does not set and are instead decided by the provincial government. By running the Statutory Holiday Report, you will be given a detailed reason why the employee does not qualify for the statutory holiday. How To Generate The Statutory Holiday Report.
- Employee Eligibility: Every employee's profile has a box indicating if an employee is eligible for Statutory Holiday pay or not, which is identified as eligible or Ineligible. If the box is checked off to be ineligible, then the employee will not be included in the Statutory Holiday calculation; to update an employee profile, you can find the steps in How To Edit An Employee's Information. - Clocks: For Push to calculate statutory holiday pay correctly and to identify if an employee qualifies, the employee needs to be clocking in and out for their shifts, and the shifts must fall within the eligibility period.
Additional Information
If you are a new Push user, depending on provincial holiday rules. Push might need more clock information to calculate the holiday pay, which must be manually added as lock History using this article on How To Add A Clock History or manually calculating the pay and uploading it under earnings/.deductions.
