Setting Up & Managing the LinkedIn Integration

⚡ What is the LinkedIn Integration?

The LinkedIn integration makes hiring easier by connecting PUSH and LinkedIn. As long as you have a LinkedIn account with the necessary subscription, creating and publishing a Job Posting in PUSH will automatically sync it to LinkedIn's platform, helping you promote openings and pick up more applications from LinkedIn's candidate pool.

📌 | Note: This integration only works in one direction. Job Postings created directly in LinkedIn will not sync back to the PUSH platform. A Job Posting must be created using PUSH's Applicant Tracking feature.

🔎 Why Use The LinkedIn Integration?

Here are some common reasons teams set up the LinkedIn integration:

  • Save time: Post once in PUSH and reach LinkedIn's candidate pool without managing a second posting process.
  • A bigger candidate pool: Extend your reach and get in front of the people actively looking on LinkedIn.
  • Manage postings from one place: Create, edit, and track applications for a role entirely in PUSH, with no need to manage separate platforms.
  • Understand where applicants are coming from: See exactly how many applicants and hires are coming from LinkedIn, so you know how well your promotion there is paying off.

🔐 Access required

The LinkedIn integration is part of our Applicant Tracking feature and is available on either our Signature or Supreme plans with the HR Add-On.

Who can request and manage the LinkedIn integration?

  • Super Administrators: Full access to request the integration be set up and to manage Job Postings.
  • Team Administrators: Can create, view, and update Job Postings if the relevant View/Update/Create Job Posting permissions are enabled. If you are unable to access, please confirm your permissions with a Super Administrator.

Setting Up the LinkedIn Integration

To set up the LinkedIn integration, you'll need one published Job Posting in PUSH, and you'll need to share some information both with Push Support and with a representative at LinkedIn.

  1. Log in to your existing LinkedIn account and retrieve your Company ID.
  2. Create and publish a Job Posting from your ATS.
  3. Once published,
  4. Retrieve your Company ID from your LinkedIn account.
  5. Email PUSH Support at support@pushoperations.com, and title the email LinkedIn Integration
    In the email, include:
    1. Your Company ID.
    2. Confirmation of whether your LinkedIn account is part of an Organization or a Company.
  6. PUSH Support will set up the integration on our side and send you the XML file required to complete the integration.
  7. Send the following to your Account Representative at LinkedIn:
💡 | Tip: If you don't have a dedicated LinkedIn Representative, you can reach out to LinkedIn Support to help connect you with one.
    1. The XML file from PUSH Support.
    2. The link to your Current Openings page in PUSH.
📌 | Note: LinkedIn will need this information to test that everything is working as intended before they complete the integration on their end.
  8. Once complete, the integration will automatically begin syncing the posting over to LinkedIn!

Once an application is received, their information will be added as a Candidate profile on your Candidate Dashboard, where you can manage their application like any other Candidate profile.

How Candidates Apply From LinkedIn

Once LinkedIn has completed the integration on their end, Candidates who click "apply" from a Job Posting shown from LinkedIn are redirected to PUSH to complete their application there.

Once an application is received, their information will be added as a Candidate profile on your Candidate Dashboard, where you can manage their application like any other Candidate profile. Each of these profiles will be tagged with the Source: LinkedIn to help you differentiate where candidates are apply from.

Frequently Asked Questions About the LinkedIn Integration

Have questions about setting up or managing the LinkedIn integration? Whether you're wondering how to track performance or who to contact if something's not working, this section provides quick answers to help you manage the integration with confidence.

Q: If I edit a Job Posting in PUSH, will it update automatically on LinkedIn?
A: Yes. The integration syncs every few minutes, so you don't need to do anything on your end. Any changes you make in PUSH will carry over to LinkedIn automatically.

Q: How long does it take for the integration to go live after I send the XML file to LinkedIn?
A: This depends on LinkedIn's turnaround on their end. The sooner you publish a job posting in PUSH and request the XML file from PUSH Support, the sooner you can send everything over to your Account Representative at LinkedIn to complete the integration.

Q: Can I have more than one Job Posting live on LinkedIn at a time?
A: Yes. Once the integration is set up, it runs in the background and syncs every few minutes. Any Job Posting you create, edit, or remove in PUSH is reflected on LinkedIn automatically.

Q: Why does my Job Posting look different on LinkedIn than it does in PUSH?
A: LinkedIn may apply its own styling to Job Postings once they're synced over, so formatting like spacing and bullet points can look a little different there compared to PUSH.

To keep things looking as consistent as possible, we recommend keeping your Job Posting formatting simple, avoiding nested bullets or extra spacing helps reduce the difference.

If you need further support, please reach out to LinkedIn Support.

Q: What if I don't have a dedicated Account Representative at LinkedIn?
A: You can reach out to LinkedIn Support to get connected with one. For more details, refer to the Requesting the LinkedIn Integration section of this article.

Q: How do I know which Job Postings are performing well on LinkedIn?
A: Check the Source column on your Candidate Dashboard. Candidates who applied from a posting from LinkedIn will be tagged as LinkedIn. Refer to our article on updating candidates sources for more information.
