Question
- What are House Shifts in the Scheduler?
- Why is there a shift with no employee assigned to the Schedule?
Environment:
- Push Web App
Answer
These shifts are created in the Schedule without being assigned to an employee. The shifts are available for multiple pickups, and employees will be able to find these shifts in their release pool. They will only see shifts within their assigned positions that do not overlap with their scheduled shift in the release pool.
House Shifts can also be utilized when copying your Schedule to another week. If you already created a Schedule with the necessary shifts but do not want them assigned to employees, you can create them as House Shifts when copied.
Additional Information
House Shifts are a great option to create if you want extra coverage for an event or a busy day. Utilizing House Shifts also gives the option to employees to pick up shifts that are outside of their typical availability.
Currently, employees do not receive a notification when House Shifts are available; we recommend notifying your team that when a Schedule is published to check out if any shifts pop up in the Push Employee App > Shift Releases > Release Pool.
Once an employee picks up a House Shift, easily approve this request under Shift Approvals: Schedule Shift Change Requests to update the Schedule and notify the employee!
Please note that only Super Administrators and Team Administrators with permission to View and Update the Scheduler by Position can make these changes.
