⚡ How Do I Clock In and Out at Work?
Some employers have you clock in and out of your shifts on a shared device at your workplace, such as a tablet. This device runs the Push Time app, which is used only for clocking in and out. You'll clock in by entering your Clock ID, a number that's unique to you, so your hours are recorded under your name.
If your employer allows you to clock in from your phone instead, refer to the article: Clocking In & Out From the Push Employee App.
📌 | Note: You'll need to be an active employee to clock in and out. If you're a former employee or have been set as inactive, you won't be able to clock in. If you believe you should be active, please reach out to your employer or direct manager.
💡 | Tip: Don't know your Clock ID? You can find it in the Push Employee app, under your name in the main menu. You can also ask your employer or direct manager.

Clocking In
Your clock-in time is recorded the moment you tap the check mark after entering your Clock ID, so it's best to clock in right when your shift starts. Depending on your employer's setup, you may also be asked to take a photo or answer a few quick questions along the way.
⚠️ | Important: You can only choose your Position when clocking in, and it can't be changed when you clock out. If you select the wrong Position, leave a note for your manager when you clock out.
- On the device, open the Push Time app if it isn't already open.
- On the keypad, enter your Clock ID and tap the check mark icon.
- On the Clock page, review your shift details. Scheduled and Clock In are filled in for you and can't be changed:
- Scheduled: The start and end time of your scheduled shift, or "--" if you aren't on the schedule.
- Clock In: The time that will be recorded as the start of your shift.
- Position: Your current or first Position is filled in for you. If you work more than one Position, scroll the Position list and select the correct one.
- Comment box: If you'd like, leave a note for your manager. For example, you're starting a few minutes early with approval, you're running late because of a delayed bus, or you'd like to add a reminder.
- When you're ready to start your shift, tap Clock In.
💡 | Tip: If your employer has set up a clock-out survey or uses clock photos, follow the prompts on screen. - Once you see the thank-you message, you're clocked in, and your shift has started!
Clocking Out
When your shift is over, clock out on the same device or any other device your employer has set up for your Position. The steps are similar to clocking in, and any photo or survey prompts will appear in the same order.
- On the device, open the Push Time app if it isn't already open.
- On the keypad, enter your Clock ID and tap the check mark icon.
- On the Clock page, review your shift details:
- Scheduled: The start and end time of your scheduled shift, or "--" if you aren't on the schedule.
- Clock Time: The start and end time and total time between your clock-in and clock-out (e.g. 5 hours and/or 30 mins)
- Position: The Position you clocked in under. This cannot be changed at this stage.
- Comment box: If you'd like, leave a note for your manager. For example, you stayed late to cover a shift, or you selected the wrong Position when clocking in.
- When you're ready to end your shift, tap Clock Out.
💡 | Tip: If your employer has set up a clock-out survey or uses clock photos, follow the prompts on screen. - Once you see the thank-you message, you're clocked out, and your shift has ended!
