Environment:

Process:
- Please ensure that the steps in the article How To Add A New Leave Management Policy have been completed
- After clicking Save & Continue, the page will load to Step 2: Add Milestones
- Under Milestones, click Add Accrual Milestone
- A pop-up will appear titled Add Milestone
- Under Employee Reaches This Milestone, input the number of years after the hire date that the employee must reach to be moved to the Milestone (i.e. 5 years)
- Under Accrual Rate, input the percentage the employees will accrue every pay period when the Milestone is reached (i.e. 6%)
- Under Max Annual Accrual, input the total hours that can be accrued in a specific time frame (the time frame will be based on what is selected as the Reset Frequency in Step 1: Create New Policy)

Under Carry Forward Limit, adjust the checkbox that corresponds with either Yes or No
- If Yes is selected, under Max Carry Forward, adjust the total hours employees can bring into the next Reset Period
- Once done, click Save Milestone
- The page will refresh back to the Add Milestone page (step 4)
- To add another Milestone, repeat steps 3-9
- Once done, click Save and Continue, and the page will load to Step 3: Add Employees

Additional Information
The Milestones feature allows users to automate tracking employee accrual rate increases for certain policies based on tenure.
Based on the Milestones created within a Leave Management Policy, our system will assign employees to the relevant Milestone when needed based on their date of hire or most recent rehire date.
For example, if a user offers vacation to their employees and the base accrual rate is 4%, but after 5 years, it increases to 6%. As soon as the employee's anniversary of their date of hire hits 5 years, the system will automatically increase the accrual rate for vacation from 4% to 6%.
Please note that only Super Administrators have access to make changes to Policies under Leave Management.
The Leave Management feature is currently available on the Premium or Pro Subscription with the Leave Management Add-On. Both also require the Payroll Add-on.
