- How to link the Journal Entry Report in Push with my Xero account
Environment:
- Push Web App
Process:
Under the Reports tab
- Click the Reports tab
- Under Report Type, click the drop down menu and select Journal Entries
- Under Pay Run Date, click the drop down menu and select the specific pay period
- Click Generate and the page will refresh to the Journal Entry
- On the top right side, click the Folder icon
- In the drop down menu, click Export to Xero (Manual Journal)
- The page will refresh to Xero, click Allow Access
- The page will refresh to the Journal Entry Report and a message should state Journal Successfully Written to Xero
- Once the export has completed, you will find the exported journal in the drafts of your Manual Journals in Xero
Under the Payroll tab
- Click the Payroll tab
- On the left hand navigation bar, click Payrun History
- Under Reports, click Journal that corresponds with the specific pay period
- On the top right side, click the Folder icon
- In the drop down menu, click Export to Xero (Manual Journal)
- The page will refresh to Xero, click Allow Access
- The page will refresh to the Journal Entry Report and a message should state Journal Successfully Written to Xero
- Once the export has completed, you will find the exported journal in the drafts of your Manual Journals in Xero
Additional Information
Once you have clicked Allow Access, you will have provided Push temporary access to your Xero account. This prompt will occur every 30 minutes.
Push will have access to your Xero account for 30 minute intervals. You will not be prompted to allow access when you see the message: Connected to Xero: Company Name.
When you no longer need Push to have access to Xero, click the Folder icon and select Xero Connected Apps. The page will take you to Xero and you can select Disconnect Apps. Once done, when you refresh your Journal Entry page, the message Connected to Xero: Company Name will no longer be listed.
After clicking Allow Access, If you see an error message, please retry steps 7-9 to ensure you are properly logged in. If the issue still persists, please contact our support team at support@pushoperations.com with a screenshot of the error.
Note, in order to export Journal Entries - Cost Centers must be created and assigned to Employees.
Please note, that only Super Administrators and Team Administrators with permissions will be able to export the Journal Entry Report.
