Improved File Visibility Controls for Employee Files
Uploading employee files just got more secure! Admins are now required to select who can view a file before uploading, helping prevent unintended access to sensitive documents.
Previously, file visibility defaulted to 'Everyone', which could result in sensitive employee documents being shared more broadly than intended and requiring manual updates after upload. Now, we’ve improved the experience by requiring a visibility selection before uploading, so access is intentional from the start.
This update applies to the admin upload experience for employee files. Employees who upload their own files are not affected, as they cannot set or adjust file visibility.
New Option to Capture EEO Details During Digital Onboarding
To help you capture key EEO information, we’ve added the ability to collect these details directly during employee onboarding.
Instead of relying on administrators to enter this information after an employee profile is created, employees can now provide their EEO details themselves as part of the digital onboarding process. This helps streamline data collection and reduces manual administrative work.
By default, these fields appear during digital onboarding, but you can choose to make them optional or required under Employee Settings → Onboarding Settings.
You can also control whether Team Administrators have permission to view or edit EEO details under Employee Profile Setup permissions: Employee EEO Reporting.
Duplicate SIN/SSN Now Allowed for Contractor and Employee Profiles
(T4A and 1099-NEC Filing by Push requires the Payroll Add-On)
You can now use the same SIN or SSN across two profiles, with one set up as a contractor and the other as an employee. This supports accurate tracking when a team member changes employment status mid-year and helps ensure the correct tax forms, such as T4s, T4As, W-2s, or 1099s, are issued based on the time worked under each employment type.
The platform continues to prevent duplicate SIN or SSN values when both profiles share the same employment status, protecting against reporting and payroll errors.
📌 | Note: When updating an existing employee’s employment status, you’ll see a red banner message recommending that a new profile be created instead. This helps maintain accurate records and ensures employment history and tax reporting remain properly separated.
Track Contractor's Business Number Type Directly in the Platform
(T4A and 1099-NEC Filing by Push requires the Payroll Add-On)
You can now store additional tax details directly on contractor employee profiles, including the specific business number or identifier type required for accurate year-end reporting. This helps ensure T4A and 1099 forms are generated with the correct information—reducing back-and-forth, avoiding potential amendments, and helping you stay prepared ahead of tax season.
For Canadian contractors, administrators can enter Social Insurance Numbers (SINs) or Recipient’s Program Account Numbers (PANs), along with a new Earning Category field, to ensure the correct earning code is applied on the tax form.
For U.S. contractors, administrators can store required identifiers, such as SSN, ITIN, ATIN, or EIN, directly in the profile.
Previously, this information wasn’t tracked in the platform and often required follow-up during year end. Capturing these details upfront helps reduce back-and-forth and keeps record keeping and reporting aligned.
📌 | Note: These contractor tax details are not currently available to be collected through digital onboarding. If you need to gather this information upfront, we recommend using Employee Attributes to collect it from your contractors, then entering the details under the Tax Information section of their profile.
Track Indian Act Employment (IAE) Eligibility Directly in the Platform (Payroll Add-On) - Canada only
You can now track employees who qualify for Indian Act Employment, typically those whose employment income is exempt from tax because their work is performed on reserve land. Eligible income will be correctly reported on Box 71 of the T4.
Previously, this information wasn’t tracked in the platform, and our accounting team needed to contact you for confirmation during year-end. Admins can now mark eligible employees directly in their profiles by enabling the toggle Registered under the Indian Act under Tax Information. Once completed, any qualifying earnings will be automatically mapped to Box 71 for accurate reporting.
📌 | Note: This option is not enabled by default. If your organization needs to track Indian Act Employment eligibility, please contact our Support Team at support@pushoperations.com, and they can enable access in your account.
New Option to Unlink Linked Employees (Supreme only)
Managing Linked Employee profiles just got easier. Admins can now unlink employee profiles directly in the platform without needing to contact Support. This gives your team more control when handling employee moves, corrections, or mistaken links.
The Linked Profiles section has also been refreshed to make it easier to review connected accounts at a glance. It now clearly displays each linked employee’s name, associated company, and hire date—with an Unlink button beside each profile for quick action when needed.
📌 | Note: Once profiles are unlinked, they cannot be re-linked. Each profile will operate independently, and changes made in one will no longer sync to the other.
Redesigned Employee Positions Setup Page
The Employee Positions setup page has received a visual refresh. While the same core logic and data inputs still apply, the page is no longer presented in a tabular format. Instead, users will now see a streamlined layout that improves clarity and ease of use when creating or editing an employee’s position.
New Dismissal without Cause Option During Employee Deactivation
You can now select a more accurate reason when deactivating employees. Based on customer feedback, we’ve added Dismissed Without Cause to the list of termination or leave reasons—providing a clearer option when other selections don’t reflect the nature of the departure.
The new reason can be used in both single and bulk deactivations, helping teams maintain accurate records and ensure that downstream processes—like ROE generation—are properly aligned with the selected termination reason.
Bulk Employee Deactivation
Clearing out inactive profiles is easier than ever. With our new bulk deactivation tool, you can now deactivate multiple employees at once. Whether you’re tidying up after an internal audit or updating records from a backlog of departures. This streamlined workflow helps you maintain accurate schedules, payroll records, and seat counts without repetitive clicks.
📌 | Note: For best results, use this tool when employees share the same offboarding details (e.g., last day worked, reason for leaving, or ROE reason code in Canada).
Employee Deactivation Alarm
The employee deactivation alarm has been updated to include employees deactivated in bulk. Instead of receiving a separate email for each employee, you’ll now get one consolidated notification whenever multiple deactivations are processed at once.
The alert also shows who performed the deactivation and includes a direct link to the Inactive Employee List, making it easy to review changes or follow up as needed.
New Employee Settings Section
We’ve introduced a new Employee Settings section to centralize key employee management settings in one convenient location. The settings previously found under Company Setup—Employee Attributes, Employee Defaults, Onboarding Settings (HR Add-On required), and the new Employee Profile Editing—are now accessible from this section.
This streamlined layout makes managing employee information more intuitive and efficient.
📌 | Note: These settings will soon be removed from the Company Setup page, so we recommend exploring the new Employee Settings section now to get familiar with where everything lives.
New Employee Profile Editing Setting
Get ready for more control and flexibility! The all-new Employee Profile Editing setting allows Super Administrators to decide exactly what employees can update in their profiles. Previously, this level of customization was only available by request—but now, it’s built right into the platform, making profile management easier than ever.
Super Administrators can choose whether employees can update details like their legal name, email, address, limited banking information, and more—ensuring profile management aligns with your business needs.
Alphabetical Sorting for Positions
Ever scrolled through a long list of roles and struggled to find what you needed? Position lists are now automatically sorted in alphabetical order. This makes them quicker to navigate when adding or editing employee roles, and keeps things consistent across your account.
