Question
- What are the benefits of my team accessing BC Sick Pay?
- Why should my team use Push's BC Sick Pay feature?
Environment:
- Push Web App
Answer
BC Sick Pay allows users to pay their employees for sick time and not worry about calculating an average day's pay in British Columbia, Canada. There are two options users can utilize to manage sick pay in BC in an account:
- Simply add an Earning and Deduction entry each time an employee is sick. Based on the specific day an employee was sick, the system will calculate the dollar value when payroll is processed based on their worked hours.
- Utilize Leave Management to assist with tracking the sick time off requests. Simply approve these requests, and the system will automatically create the Earning and Deduction entry to calculate the dollar value when payroll is processed based on their worked hours.
With these features, you will no longer be required to manually calculate sick pay, saving your business time and preventing errors!
Sick pay will be auto-calculated for both salaried and hourly employees. Note that hourly employees must be clocking in and out from either the Push Time or Push Employee app in order to track the hours worked. Salaried employees are not required to clock in and out, as this will be based on their actual earnings that are inputted in their profile and have been paid.
Additional Information
Note that this feature is only available for accounts in British Columbia, Canada with the Payroll Add- On.
