Environment:
- Push Web App
Process:
Add a new Contractor:
- Click the Employee tab
- Click Add A New Employee and fill in the necessary information
- Scroll down to Tax Information at the very bottom
- Under Employment Status, click the drop down menu and select Contractor
- Check/Uncheck the box that corresponds with Requires T4A/Requires 1099-NEC Filing if applicable
- Check/Uncheck the box that corresponds with Payroll Exempt if applicable
- Once done, click Update Employee
Update existing Employee to Contractor:
- Click the Employees tab
- On the left hand navigation bar, select either the Active, Pending, Inactive, or On Leave Employee List
- Under Search, input the name of the specific employee
- Under Edit, click the Pencil icon that corresponds with the Employee
- Scroll down to Tax Information at the very bottom
- Under Employment Status, click the drop down menu and select Contractor
- Check/Uncheck the box that corresponds with Requires T4A if applicable
- Check/Uncheck the box that corresponds with Payroll Exempt if applicable
- Once done, click Update Employee
Additional Information
If you require Push to issue a T4A in Canada or a 1099 in USA, please ensure the box is checked off prior to T4/W-2 Season. Push will send an email reminder to Administrators of the deadline each year.
If you miss the deadline, please contact our Yearend Team yearend@pushoperations.com to best assist you.
If you do not want Contractors to be included in payroll based on clock entries and/or earning and deductions, please ensure the box is checked off under Payroll Exempt.
Please note, only Super Administrators and Team Administrators with the ability to update Tax information will be able to adjust the Employment Status.
